In November 2025, the first GEDP Steering Committee meeting was held, during which key decisions were made regarding the program’s next steps, particularly concerning the new countries where the program will be implemented.
The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), through the Global Energy Districts Programme (GEDP), and the Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization (OLACDE) have signed a cooperation framework to promote the development of energy districts in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Thanks to the work and progress achieved through the Energy Districts Program developed in Colombia over the past 12 years, UNIDO and SECO have decided to expand the scope of this initiative to reach more regions and countries.

El pasado noviembre de 2025 se celebró el primer comité directivo de GEDP, en el que se tomaron determinaciones importantes sobre los próximos pasos a seguir para el programa, especialmente en lo que respecta a los nuevos países de intervención que tendrá el programa.
