In November 2025, the first GEDP Steering Committee meeting was held, during which key decisions were made regarding the program’s next steps, particularly concerning the new countries where the program will be implemented.
Representatives from SECO and UNIDO, along with the GEDP team, participated in this meeting and highlighted the most significant actions carried out by the program in 2025. These included preliminary studies and the mapping of potential interventions in Morocco, Vietnam, South Africa, and Egypt, where the program could begin its activities.
Based on these preliminary studies, Morocco and Vietnam were selected as new territories for GEDP implementation, with interventions expected to be launched in 2026, subject to the successful completion of agreements between the program and the respective governments.
