The Global Energy Districts Programme (GEDP) participated in the Viet Nam Industrial Park Summit 2026, held in Hai Phong under the theme “Developing Viet Nam Industrial Parks in Alignment with National Goals of Industrial Growth.” The event brought together industry leaders, policymakers, and key stakeholders to address the challenges and opportunities surrounding the development of industrial parks in Viet Nam.
As part of its participation, the programme delivered the keynote presentation “Energy Districts and Renewable Energy-Based Energy Districts: International Experience and Recommendations for Sustainable Industrial and Urban Development in Viet Nam,” led by its International Coordinator, Cristina Mariaca Orozco. The session provided an opportunity to share international experiences and best practices on how Energy Districts can improve energy efficiency, integrate renewable energy, and reduce emissions.
GEDP also featured an exhibition booth that facilitated the exchange of experiences with government representatives, industrial park developers, companies, and international partners. Through this space, attendees learned more about the programme and the potential of Energy Districts as a sustainable solution for cooling and heating supply in urban and industrial environments.
GEDP’s participation in the event reaffirmed its commitment to developing more efficient, competitive, and low-carbon energy solutions for Viet Nam, while promoting collaboration between the public and private sectors and the exchange of international experiences.
